We are only 30 miles away from College Station.  You can get away from the crowds and enjoy the peaceful country atmosphere.  We don’t have the constant sounds you will hear in the city.  We don’t have the excess lights that interfere with the night sky.  We have a great view of the stars on cloudless nights.  We have a number of areas to sit around and enjoy the outdoors .

If you like to walk around and explore, we have plenty of land for that.  Photo enthusiasts will have a number of opportunities to take pictures of scenery, birds, wild life, and sunsets.

If our schedule allows it, we can take you on a golf-cart ride (holds up to 6 people) around the ranch, where you may be able to see whitetail and axis deer.

We think you will have an experience that you won’t soon forget.  Do yourself a favor and book your reservation soon.

When I turned into the drive of the Rocking H, I saw they had been busy with the flower beds and grass.  Everything was manicured and looking great.  It is a welcoming feeling.

This is not my first time to visit the Rocking H.  I maintain the Inn Keepers website and I am their son.   When I parked my car, Judy was there to welcome me, just as if I was a guest.

After catching up with Dan and Judy, I was ready to go see the ranch.  We loaded up on the golf cart, and set out on the trails inside the high fence.  As we drove we saw a couple of deer, but it was a little early for them to be out in force.   We ran into the neighbors and talked with them.  I had brought my fishing rod, so I wanted to stop by the fishing hole to wet a hook.  Again it was early, so wet a hook was all I accomplished.

We returned to the Lodge and cleaned up for dinner.  After dinner, we took another ride to see the deer and fish some more.  The bucks were growing their antlers again.  They were already forking.  It is an exciting process to see those antlers grow larger every few weeks, when I get to see them.  This time at the fishing hole, we were able to catch a few bass.  They were fun to catch, and we released them to the water.

When we returned to the Lodge, I suggested we make a fire and sit out by the fire pit.  It wasn’t dark when we started.  We had a good time reliving old stories.  Just as the fire was getting down to embers, the stars started to pop up one after another.  When it finally, got completely dark the stars were everywhere and very bright.

It was a great day.  It reminded me of camping, when I was younger.

The fire pit can be used if approved by the inn keepers.   Note: There may be times when it will not be possible to use, like when it is too windy or in extremely dry conditions.

In addition to that, we have added the ability for you to pay for your stay via credit card with an online payment.  We were able to do this using PayPal services.  PayPal has a good history on the Internet for allowing online payments.  Their services allow us to accept a wide range of credit cards, and they can do it securely. You don’t need to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card.

With Webervations and PayPal, our site has more flexibilty to serve you better.

To our amazement, they have flown through the breezeway while we sat there.  You can really hear those wings flapping.
